DYGO – POST HARVEST
TECHNOLOGIES

Providing an autonomous solution for the
post-harvest treatment of fresh produce.

Challenge

Established in 2022 by three visionary partners, DYGO Post Harvest Technology aims to revolutionize the post-harvest treatment of fresh produce through an autonomous solution. Our primary objective is to minimize damage incurred after harvesting while simultaneously reducing reliance on manual intervention in the ripening & storage process.

In developed nations, approximately 40% of fruits and vegetables are wasted due to inadequate ripening methods carried out manually, leading to spoilage. The consequential food loss has a profound and adverse impact on natural resources.

The system developed by
DYGO aims to:

Bring fruits to the market in an optimal ripening condition, determined by the market demand and agricultural needs.

Prolong the product's shelf life.

Substantially mitigate fresh produce loss resulting from improper ripening and storage, thereby contributing to the reduction of the overall impact on natural resources.

The DYGO system delivers value to all customer segments, encompassing farmers, marketing networks, and retailers, by enhancing the management of harvesting, storage, and distribution processes.

Solution

The DYGO system operates autonomously, comprising a local controller and an integrated sensing device within the ripening & storage room.

Continuously gathering real-time data from both the produce and the room atmosphere, the system uploads this information to the cloud. Utilizing a machine learning-based algorithm, it conducts autonomous ripening & storage processes.

Accessible through its mobile app, the DYGO system allows remote control, facilitating real-time data monitoring and manual intervention when needed. This capability empowers users to adjust ripening & storage conditions within the room, either expediting or slowing down the process.

In automatic mode, users can specify the desired ripening & storage condition for the conclusion of the ripening process, with the system adjusting the estimated completion time accordingly.

The capabilities of the DYGO system offer the packing house the optimal means to manage the ripening or storage process across numerous rooms and facilities, thereby substantially reducing fresh produce loss due to improper ripening or storage. These features provide efficient tools for ensuring optimal produce quality and granting the packing house complete management control.

Presently, we are in the process of patenting several innovations we have developed, enabling autonomous ripening & storage processes without human intervention across a continuously expanding range of fruits & vegetables.
